9/11 Report "Forgotten-ed" in the Media

The commission on intelligence just released its report concluding that pre-Iraq war intelligence on WMDs was woefully wrong. Really. It naturally blames the intelligence community for this. This is disingenuous, however, because in the run-up to the war the president systematically rejected any intelligence that didn't corroborate his team's assertions of WMDs. Worse than this, the White House installed its own crew devoted to promoting the Iraq invasion in the Pentagon, where they shaped and hand-picked intelligence to bolster their cause. The Sage of Kennesaw, Newt (weNt) Gingrich, was part of that team. 'Objectivity' was not their watchword.

The commission's report is fatuous pablum. It's real purpose is to divert the American public's attention away from this fact: the half of the 9-11 report dealing with the White House's weak performance against terrorism, delayed until after the 2004 election initially, will never be released.

This is the same old razzle-dazzle, and it works every time. The NBC-CBS-ABC-FOX-CNN corporate news-tainment megaplex will skip the news that release of the 9-11 Report is deep-sixed forever, say a few words in ponderous tones about the intelligence commission folderol, then proceed to the Michael Jackson saga and the moral ramifications of feeding tube removal.
